  • File2Upload eliminates the following problems:
  • It is more secure than regular e-mail. You don't have to worry about the size of a file and it being rejected because the recipient's e-mail server won't allow a file that big or their inbox is full. The download is the exact file you uploaded, and no one has a chance to spoof or manipulate the file. Our servers are secure, and uploaded files can be removed, but not changed. Now you are able to e-mail out from an Internet cafe, friend's PC, or while you're at a corporate PC. You can easily upload the files from wherever you are and then download them when you get to your destination. Stop being shouted at by your friends saying it took forever to get your e-mail attachment and they couldn't receive or send e-mail until it's completed. Not everyone is on a high speed connection, and files get larger every day. By sending the link, people can download your files at their leisure when they are ready. Eliminate country or domain blocking problems for e-mail. Because of spam, more and more companies are implementing new rules about receiving e-mails. It is not uncommon for companies to delete e-mail from certain countries or even domains. If someone can't receive your e-mail, just telephone them and give them the file link over the telephone. This will allow them to download the file easily and simply.

Storage Questions
  • To upload a file just follow these simple steps:
  • Select a file to send by clicking the "Browse" button. You can then select photos, audio, video, documents or anything else you want to send. The maximum file size is 1 000 MB. You may choose who you want to send a file to. If you just want to get the link to your file stored on our server, leave the optional fields blank. Click the "Send" button to start uploading the file. You will see the progress of the file transfer. Please don't close your browser window while uploading or it will cancel the upload. If you entered an optional recipient e-mail address, they will be sent the link of the file. They can then simply click the link to your file to download it. If you entered your e-mail address (optional), you will be sent the link and delete link to your file stored on our server. You can share it for example on forums, websites, messengers, etc. Premium features: If you would like to mail your file to more than one recipient (up to 1000!), you may enter multiple e-mail addresses seperated by comma or semicolon. You may choose if you want to protect your file with a password. Only you and the recipient will receive the password by e-mail. Noone can access your file without the password. Instead of uploading a file from your local harddrive, you may enter a valid HTTP or FTP link. We will then fetch the file to File2Upload and provide you with a download link.

  • How often can my files be downloaded from File2Upload?
  • There is no limit! And even better: The more downloads your files get, the more you can earn through our File2Upload Rewards program.

  • How long does File2Upload store my files?
  • Your files will be stored forever as long as you are a premium member. If you are a registered user without premium status, your files will be stored until at least 90 days after their last download (you can manually restart that expiration period at any time in the file manager). A file that was uploaded anonymously (that is not owned by any File2Upload user) will be deleted no sooner than 21 days after the last time it was downloaded.

  • Should I rely on File2Upload as the only place to store my vital files?
  • No! It is good practice to always keep more than one backup of any file you cannot afford to lose. Although we are going to great lengths to ensure the long-term integrity and availability of your data, there is always a (very slim) chance of a loss - e.g. because of natural disasters affecting our data centers or someone reporting an acceptable use policy violation affecting your files or files appearing in their context. We take no responsibility for the long-term availability of your files!

  • What is the maximum file size I can upload?
  • If you'd like your file to be downloadable by everyone, make sure not to exceed the limit of 1 000 MB. Larger files can only be downloaded by premium users.

  • Which files are allowed to be uploaded?
  • All files that do not violate our terms of service or the laws of concerned countries. This means that files violating copyrights, or containing pornography, are forbidden and will be removed as soon as we notice. If you see such files on File2Upload, we would be glad if you notified us: Simply file an abuse report on our front page.

  • Can I upload more than one file at a time?
  • Sure! You can either open multiple upload windows or use the Multi file uploader (available in the icon box). For improved upload performance and comfort, we recommend using our toolbar or the Mega Manager instead of uploading from your web browser.

  • Where do I see the link of my uploaded file?
  • You will see it in the upper right corner once your upload is completed.

  • Can I include links to uploaded images directly in HTML files?
  • Unortunately not. Like most major free services on the Internet, we have to ensure that our traffic can be paid for. If the images were embedded directly, we would have no way of showing any advertising.

  • Can I delete my uploaded files?
  • Sure you can! If you enter your e-mail address when uploading a file, we will automatically e-mail you two links: a link to download the file, and your private delete link. If you have a free online storage account, you will be able to view and delete your files from within your personal file manager. If you uploaded a file without supplying your e-mail address and without being logged on, you cannot delete it.

  • I entered my e-mail address with my upload. Will I receive spam?
  • No, we will never disclose your e-mail address to any third parties.

  • Why is my upload slow?
  • Depending on your connectivity to our server network, your upload speed may be limited and slower than what you expect. You may wish to install our Internet Explorer toolbar or our groundbreaking Mega Manager client software for improved upload speed and extended features such as the ability to resume interrupted uploads.

File Download Questions
  • Which download accelerators can I use?
  • While you can use any of the major download accelerators, we recommend that you use Mega Manager instead. It is a generic download accelerator, but contains additional functionality to take advantage of File2Upload's special features. This is especially true if you own a File2Upload Premium account.

  • I received a File2Upload link and clicked on it, but I don't see a download link. Help!
  • If you don't have a premium account and the link you received is not a premium link, you first have to enter a three-letter code to identify yourself as a human being (we had to introduce this feature to combat robots that would otherwise use up too much of our bandwidth). If you cannot see the code, enable the loading of graphics and disable any ad blockers in your browser. After you entered the code successfully, you will see a timer counting down to 0 (180 seconds for unregistered users, 120 seconds for registered free users). If you have Javascript disabled, you will see a message asking you to enable it instead.

  • I cannot download files at all! What is wrong?
  • If you do not have a File2Upload Premium account, certain restrictions may prevent you from downloading: We do not allow more than one concurrent download per IP address and also limit the amount of data you can download from our servers within a certain timespan. If you share your IP address with other File2Upload users (e.g. because your ISP uses proxies or NAT), you may be adversely affected by their activities.

  • I am not downloading/have not downloaded anything, but still get "Download limit exceeded". Why?
  • It is possible that someone else is already downloading from your IP or has exceeded your newly assigned IP's download quota in a previous session. There are some ways to work around this issue: 1. You can ask your ISP to assign you a public IP address or switch to a different ISP. 2. You can buy a premium account, which relieves you of all limitations and allows for unlimited parallel and batch downloads.

  • I cannot open a downloaded file: I get asked for a password, a program to open the file with, or a missing "codec". Help!
  • Please ask the person you received the file link from for details about the file format, required codecs or passwords. We have no way of finding them out for you.

  • Can I browse your huge file archive?
  • No. Not everyone wants his files to be seen or downloaded by anyone. In order to protect privacy and copyrights, it is impossible to download files if you do not know the links. However, if you purchase a File2Upload Premium Account we will give you access to our top100 public files.

  • Why is my download slow?
  • Depending on packet roundtrip time and packet loss to our servers, your downloads may be slow. This may also depend on the time of day, so trying again at a different time may solve your problem. Also, using Mega Manager with a File2Upload Premium account will dramatically improve your downloading speed, usually maxing out your Internet connection's bandwidth.

  • File2Upload is not accessible from my network or country, is it banned or blacklisted?!
  • The growing popularity of our service forced us to limit the number of concurrent connections from a few countries during peak hours. If you are affected by this policy, signing up for a File2Upload Premium account will solve that problem for you. If your ISP blocks access to File2Upload, please send us an e-mail, and we will try to find a solution for you or work things out with your network provider. Please e-mail us at support@File2Upload.com. In many cases, using web proxies can solve access problems as well.

Payments, Premium Accounts and Premium Links
  • What is the advantage of a File2Upload Premium account?
  • You get a lot of extra features for a very small flat fee - starting at USD 4.99 a day: Highest download priority and bandwidth, unlimited downloading (no daily limits, no more annoying "Download limit exceeded" messages), no waiting before a download starts, direct downloads, access to files larger than 500 megabyes, unlimited lifetime of the files in your account throughout the validity period of your premium status, dramatically increased capacity of your file portfolio, and many more.

  • I have purchased a Premium Account via PayPal - why have I not received my account data yet?
  • As soon as you have paid for an account, PayPal informs us instantly that your money has arrived. We will then automatically send an e-mail to your primary PayPal e-mail address. Please check that e-mail account - including e-mail spam folders! If you really cannot find our e-mail, we are happy to resend it to you. Also note that certain types of payments (eCheques, and in rare cases also credit card payments) may take up to three days for validation purposes and to prevent fraud.

  • PayPal doesn't list my country or declines my credit card. What do I do?
  • Use our alternative payment provider, CommerceGate.

  • I bought a File2Upload Premium account, but my speed is still lower than my Internet connection's bandwidth?
  • If your ISP's connectivity to us (packet latency and loss rate) is bad, your transfer speed will suffer even if you have a premium account. In this case, using a download accelerator will speed up your download dramatically. Install Mega Manager and enjoy the ride!

  • What is a Lifetime Platinum account?
  • A lifetime platinum account is a premium account that never expires. You pay a one-time fee and enjoy the full range of premium benefits for the rest of your life. Lifetime Platinum accounts are personal, so you cannot include them in your inheritance! This offering is one of the best deals in the industry and may not be available forever, so get yours now!

  • Why doesn't the system recognize my new File2Upload Premium account?
  • Please make sure cookies are enabled in your browser. Also make sure you do not have any cookie blocking or surf protection tools installed. Some firewalls or proxies do this, too. You do not have to accept any cookies, but then you would have to reenter your login data for every file you want to download.

  • The system says that my account was blocked. Why?
  • We automatically monitor every account's activity to detect and disable leaked accounts. Please make sure that your account doesn't get into the hands of third parties - do not share it with anyone, not even with people you trust. File2Upload staff will never ask you for your password. When entering your account, make sure that you're really on www.File2Upload.com and not on some phishing site. Do not buy accounts from resellers (we don't have any) - they may be cheaper, but they won't last long, and you would have to buy a new one. Depending on the credit card the illegal reseller used to set up your account, you may also become subject to criminal investigation. People who live in the same household may share a single account.

  • I would like to sign up for a free account. Where can I do that?
